CatCart makes doing business on the Internet easy! You can now create an on-line catalog of your products, including photos, and make it easy for your customers to find and purchase your products. You can also print customer checks right from your web browser, and process credit card transactions in a single batch using your existing credit card processing software.

Here are some of the benefits of CatCart:

• Create an On-Line Inventory. You can load your products into a database, either on your server, or on ours. For each item, you provide a product code, category name, an item name, a description, keywords and a quantity of how many you have. You can also insert an image file name for each item. You can enter an unlimited number of items and categories.
• Manage Your Inventory. Each time an item is purchased, the quantity is reduced from your inventory file. If you only have a limited amount of a product, once the items are sold, they no longer show up to your customers. If you have an unlimited quantity of an item, simply put "9999" in the quantity field. At any time, you can update the quantity of your items, delete an item, or change an item name, description or keywords.
• Time-Saving Features. To save typing time, the product code is incremented automatically for each new item you add, unless you manually override it. The category stays the same for each new item, until you change it yourself.
• Easy to Set Up. Your program is provided with the basic file information and server information already loaded. All you do is install the two scripts into your CGI bin, or let us do it for you. We can also set up the scripts on our server. To set up your business information, or to make changes, use your Configuration Manager web page. No CGI or Perl experience is needed.
• Easy to Integrate With Your Web Site. To use the shopping cart, all you do is make a link to the URL of the shopping cart program. You can also use the following graphic hyperlinks:

• Insert "Add Item" Buttons to Your Existing Web Page. If you wish to let customers add items to their shopping cart from your web site, all you have to do is add a few lines of html code to your page where you want the buttons to appear.
• Displays Your Company Logo Graphic. When a customer visits your shopping cart, he or she will see your company logo graphic at the top of the page. Your business name, address, phone number fax number and e-mail address are also displayed on your cart, and on your customer's receipt.
• Search By Categories, Keywords or Product Code. Your customers can navigate your CatCart by looking at a drop-down list of your product categories, or by entering a keyword, or even a product code if they know it. In the case of the categories, all products matching that category are displayed in a table format. If your customer chooses "Select All Categories", then all your products will be displayed. In the case of a keyword search, any product containing the keyword in the product name, description or keyword field will be displayed. A thumb-nail image of each products is displayed.
• Change the Labels on the Shopping Cart. You can replace the words "Category" and "Keyword" with whatever better describes how your products are organized. For example, if your categories are created by Manufacturer, Brand, Product Type, etc..., then this is what is displayed on your cart instead of the word "Category". If your keyword field contains model numbers, colors, component names, concepts, etc..., then you would replace "Keyword" with the appropriate choice.
• Shopping Cart Holds 15 Items. Your customer can add up to 15 items to his or her shopping cart before getting a prompt to click on the Checkout button and purchase the items.
• Recalculate Function. After your customer reviews his or her order, her or she can change the quantity of any item or eliminate any item from their cart by pressing one button. The new order is recalculated and displayed. If the cart is not full, the customer can go back to the product page and add more items.
• Secure Order Form. All personal info and credit card or checking account information is taken on a secure order form page. A solid blue key is displayed on the customer's browser, providing the assurance that the transaction information will not be intercepted.
• Use Our Secure Server. If you don't have a secure server, you can use ours at no extra charge! Your purchase price includes setting up your cart to work on our server.
• Total Credit Card Security. CatCart stores orders on our server with the credit card number encrypted (if you enable the security feature). If you want to keep the card information private, the information is transmitted encrypted via e-mail to you, even without using a secure server on your end. You can view and print a duplicate copy of the order from your Manager web page, where the CatCart program unencrypts the information before displaying it to you.
• Rejects Blank Fields. A purchase can not be made until your customer provides all the information displayed on the form. If a field is left blank, a warning box is displayed, telling the customer what information is missing.
• Rejects Fake Card Numbers. A credit card validation algorithm is used to reject orders submitted with made-up credit card numbers, such as 1234567890123456. Only valid numbers are passed through, eliminating processing fake credit card orders.
• Shipping Calculations. You can calculate shipping charges based on a percentage of the total sale or based on the number of items purchased. If you select the percent method, you can choose the percentage that will be added for shipping. If the shipping charge falls below a minimum amount that you specify, then the charge will be rounded up to the minimum amount that you desire. If you select the number of items method, you can select the shipping charge for the first item, and the amount for each additional item.
• Allows for Overnight and Overseas Shipping Surcharges. You can enter dollar amounts for shipping surcharges for non-US customers and for customers that want overnight delivery. The order form gives customers the option for standard ground or overnight shipping.
• Sales Tax. You can specify in which state you charge sales tax, and what the percent tax rate is. The customer will be notified that if they live in the state that you specify, that sales tax will be added to the order. When they enter their address, if their state matches the taxable state, the sales tax will be computed and displayed on their receipt.
• Local Sales Tax Override. If the local sales tax rate in the customer's city or county is higher than the state tax rate, the customer can enter the higher rate. The higher of the two rates will be used to compute the sales tax.
• Orders Delivered by E-mail. You receive notification of all orders via e-mail. A list of items purchased is displayed, along with the total, plus the tax and shipping. The name, address, phone number of each customer is included along with their payment method. If a valid e-mail address is not provided (missing an "@" or a ".com", ".net", ".org", or ".edu"), then the order is not accepted.
• View Orders from a Browser. All orders can be viewed from the Manager web site, without relying on wading through e-mail spam. Orders can be left on the server, or printed and deleted. The built-in encryption algorithm decodes encrypted credit card numbers if you enable the security feature from your Manager page.
• Customer Confirmation Provided After the Sale. After a sale is make, a receipt is displayed on your customer's browser, along with instructions to print it out. Your business name, address and phone number are displayed, along with your e-mail address, making it easy for a customer to reach you after the sale. This will reduce credit card chargebacks due to customers not being able to contact you to correct any problems with the product or obtain a refund. Your refund policy is displayed right on the customer' receipt.
• On-Line Check Payment. You can accept checks over the Internet easily using the secure order form that lets you obtain the needed check information from your customers.
• Print Checks From Your Browser. You can display all your checks on your computer and print them right from your web browser, using standard VersaCheck™ paper available at amost computer stores, or from us. You can also manually add other checks that are faxed or e-mailed to you.
• Creates a Credit Card Import File for Batch Processing. If you are using software for credit card processing, you can automate your transaction processing by downloading a daily file of your credit card sales and importing the batch directly into your software. This process eliminates the need to re-enter the credit card and personal info on your customers, saving time and eliminating errors.
• Tracks Where an Order Came From. If you place a question mark and a name or ID code at the end of the cart address, you can determine who referred the customer to you, as whatever is behind the question mark shows up on your e-mailed order as a "Referred By" variable. This is a great way to let others market your products on a comission basis. You can start your own affiliate program usig this feature.
